The Story of Mr. Sam

Mr. Sam was born Sam Fallie in Memphis, TN. His family moved to Los Angeles (LA) CA while he was a small child, but relocated back to Memphis when he was 10. While living in LA, “Mr. Sam” discovered a love for music. From this discovery “Mr. Sam” joined his High School Choir and there he gained notoriety for his talent. After completing High School “Mr. Sam” formed several groups (Mellow Mystics, Naked Truth Band and Perfectionist) but all were short lived. Even though the groups were short lived something good did come out for “Mr. Sam” while performing with the group “Perfectionist”. The Legendary Great Late Allen Jones, Producer and Manager for the infamous “Bar-Kays” asked Mr. Sam to come aboard as a Staff Writer and he has been on his way ever since.

 

Mr. Sam’s writing abilities have been compared to such greats as Homer Banks,Lionel Richie,Babyface, to name a few and you will soon learn why. “Mr. Sam” has written several hits for the “Bar-Kays” such as: “What Goes In Da Club Stays In Da Club” featuring “George Clinton”, “Holla If You Like That”, “My Everythang” and “Lets Git Bizzy”, “J. Blackfoot”: “It Ain’t Over”, “I’m Just A Fool” featuring “Lenny Williams” and the remake with “Sir Charles Jones”, “Archie Love”: “Should Have Been There For You” and “Same Woman” featuring “J. Blackfoot”, “Theodis Ealey”: “Move With The Motion”, Mr. Sam” also wrote “You Gon Make Me” and “Heartache” which won Southern Soul Artist “Lacee” (Best Female Artist of the Year 2006).

His well known hit Roll it Roll it has enjoyed worldwide acclaim top the iTunes chart on several occasions sharing the spotlight with such artists as Beyoncé,Bruno Mars and Etta James to name a few. 

 

In 2023 he gave us 2 EPs on the Music Access label (Hands Down) which included “Hands Down” “Two Step Wit My Baby” “Favorite Girl” “Hold Me Down “

  In 2025 has teamed up with legendary Memphis rapper Al Kapone/ Al Kapeezy 

For the line dance song “Work the Middle“ 

which is sure to make some noise throughout the industry. 

Mr Sam is also known for his electrifying live high energy show filled with dancing humor, audience participation and great singing. Mr Sam has also pinned a country song “Ain’t Country Enough” showing how versatility in other genres.

And not to mention his gospel roots with his gospel song “Teach Me”. Mr Sam is still an active member on his church Victory In Christ Christian Church as a member of the praise team with his lovely wife Ms Genii. 

An advocate for sobriety Mr Sam spreads his message of drug free living in his community. 

And this is just a few of the things this remarkable artist has down and now is stepping into the acting role performing in his first stage play The Okays a play pinned by his nephew Chad Rhodes.
